Description
Directional Drilling Services in Rolling Hills, CA
Welcome to Directional Boring California. If you live or work in Rolling Hills, you know how special the area is. The landscape is beautiful, the properties are spacious, and maintaining that rural, equestrian charm is important to everyone here.
So, when you need to install new utilities—like water lines, gas pipes, or electrical conduits—the last thing you want to do is tear up your driveway or trench through a beautiful garden.
That is exactly where we come in.
We specialize in Directional Drilling (often called Horizontal Directional Drilling or HDD). It’s a method that allows us to install underground pipes and cables without disturbing the surface. We are a development and engineering company, fully licensed as a General A Engineering Contractor and a General B Contractor right here in California.
Whether you are a homeowner needing a new water line or a commercial developer working on infrastructure in Los Angeles, we are here to help.
What is Directional Drilling?
Think of it like surgery for the ground. Instead of digging a long, open trench that ruins your landscaping, we drill a small hole from Point A to Point B underground.
Here is why our clients in Rolling Hills love this approach:
- Preserves Landscaping: Your lawn, trees, and hardscape stay intact.
- Less Mess: We don't create huge piles of dirt.
- Driveway Protection: We can bore right under your driveway or private road without cracking the concrete.
- Efficiency: Often, it is faster than traditional trenching because we don’t have to spend days repairing the ground afterward.
Why Trust Directional Boring California?
Choosing a contractor can be stressful. We get that. You want someone who is going to show up on time, do the job right, and respect your property.
We are proud to be a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE).
For us, that isn't just a certification. It represents our core values: integrity, discipline, and service. When we say we will do something, we do it.
In addition to being a DVBE, we hold several other certifications that demonstrate our commitment to excellence and compliance:
- SDVOSB (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business)
- PDBE (Port of Long Beach SBE)
- SB-Micro (Small Business Micro)
- SB-PW (Small Business Public Works)
We bring that same level of military precision and engineering expertise to every single job, whether it’s a small residential bore or a larger municipal project.
How The Process Works
If you have never hired a directional drilling service before, you might be wondering how it actually works. We like to keep it simple.
1. The Plan
First, we come out and look at the site. We check for existing utilities because safety is our number one priority. We plan the path the drill will take.
2. The Pilot Bore
We set up our machine and drill a small "pilot hole." This is guided by a transmitter, so we know exactly where the drill head is at all times. We can steer it around rocks, under roots, and beneath roads.
3. The Pullback
Once the drill rod comes out at the other end, we attach the pipe or conduit you need installed. Then, we pull it back through the hole we just created.
That’s it. Your new utility line is in the ground, and your grass still looks green.
Factors That Influence Cost
One of the most common questions we get is, "How much does it cost?"
To be honest, it is hard to give a flat rate without seeing the project because every job site in Rolling Hills is unique. However, here are the main things that will affect the price:
- Soil Conditions: Drilling through soft dirt is easier than drilling through solid rock. Rolling Hills has a mix of terrain, and rockier ground can take a bit more time.
- Distance: Naturally, longer bores require more labor and materials.
- Diameter: The size of the pipe matters. A small 1-inch conduit is easier to pull than a 6-inch water main.
- Location: Access to the site plays a role. If we need to maneuver our equipment into a tight spot, it takes a little more planning.
We believe in being transparent. We will walk you through these factors so you understand exactly what you are paying for.
